SBS drama “My Royal Nemesis” is gaining strong attention as its romance story between Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun continues to grow.

Episode 8, which aired on the 30th, recorded a peak rating of 13.7% and a nationwide rating of 10.4%, according to Nielsen Korea. This marks the drama’s highest rating so far, showing its growing popularity among viewers.

In the episode, Shin Seo Ri, played by Lim Ji Yeon, accepted the feelings of Cha Se Gye, played by Heo Nam Jun, and the two moved closer to a romantic relationship. The drama also continued to show the connection between their present lives and their past lives from 300 years ago.

One scene that caught viewers’ attention was Seo Ri’s press conference. While facing a difficult situation, she calmly shifted public attention by bringing up Se Gye’s donation news.

During the scene, Seo Ri remembered her past life as Kang Dan Shim and said, “Even if I stand again at the crossroads of life and death, I will not hide cowardly behind a man.”

The romance also developed in a light and emotional way. Seo Ri misunderstood Se Gye’s words as a confession and boldly declared that they were in a “some” relationship. She told him, “I will allow you now. I will allow you to look back at me.”

However, Se Gye was actually trying to explain a dating rumor involving Mo Tae Hee, played by Chae Seo An.

Later, Se Gye made his feelings clear when he drew the line with Tae Hee. He said, “I am completely obsessed with Shin Seo Ri. So let’s stop this kind of sudden move.” His direct words added more tension to the love line and made viewers more invested in his relationship with Seo Ri.

Another emotional moment came when Se Gye confessed how much Seo Ri meant to him. He said, “I lived my whole life in a battlefield where everything was black or white, ally or enemy. But you are the first person on my side.”

He added, “You are the only one, Shin Seo Ri. Let’s make our hearts beat together. You should also make me your only one.”

With its mix of romance, past life mystery, and emotional dialogue, “My Royal Nemesis” continues to build interest every week. The strong performances of Lim Ji Yeon, Heo Nam Jun, and Jang Seung Jo are also helping the drama gain more attention.

As the drama keeps setting new personal best ratings, viewers are now watching closely to see how the 300 year connection between Seo Ri and Se Gye will affect their present day romance.
