I.O.I is proving that their popularity is still strong even after a long break.
The group recently returned with their third mini album “I.O.I : LOOP”, marking their 10th debut anniversary. The title track “Suddenly” has been receiving strong attention on major music charts since its release on May 19.
As of 2 PM on May 26, “Suddenly” ranked No. 4 on Melon Top 100 and No. 3 on Melon Hot 100. The strong chart performance is drawing attention because it comes after I.O.I released new music for the first time in about 9 years.
I.O.I first debuted in 2016 through Mnet’s survival show “Produce 101”, where they were chosen by the public as “national producers.”
Although the group’s original promotion period was short, they gained huge popularity and became known as the “national girl group.”
For their 10th debut anniversary, I.O.I reunited with 9 members: Im Nayoung, Chungha, Kim Sejeong, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Sohye, Yoo Yeonjung, Choi Yoojung, Kim Doyeon, and Jeon Somi. Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong did not join the activities because of their individual schedules.
After I.O.I’s original group promotions ended, the members continued their careers in different fields, including new groups, solo music, and acting.
Now, their reunion is being praised for showing strong chemistry, experienced stage presence, and the same charm that made fans support them years ago.
Their live performances on music shows also gained positive reactions, while their challenge videos with junior artists became a hot topic online. The comeback is bringing back memories for longtime fans while also introducing I.O.I to newer K-pop fans.

Following their strong chart performance, I.O.I will begin their “2026 I.O.I Concert Tour: LOOP” from May 29 to 31 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul. After the Seoul shows, the group will continue the tour in other Asian cities, including Bangkok and Hong Kong.
With “Suddenly” performing well on the charts and fans showing strong support, I.O.I is once again proving why they remain one of the most remembered girl groups in K-pop.
