BTOB member Lee Chang Sub opened up about suffering financial damage at the practical music academy he operates.

On May 22, Lee Chang Sub appeared in a video uploaded to the YouTube channel “Lee Chang Sub & Jeo Chang Sub.” While experiencing work at a law office, he said, “There is someone I also want to request help with,” before sharing his own case.

Lee Chang Sub talked about the practical music academy he runs in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. He said, “I was scammed at the academy. They used the law in a very clever way.”

According to Lee Chang Sub, an acting CEO who was trusted with the academy’s early management allegedly failed to pay employee salaries and used company funds without permission. He explained, “I had to put in several hundred million KRW more to solve the money that person did not pay.”

The reported damage amount is around 110 million KRW. Lee Chang Sub also said the person wrote a loan agreement promising to repay him and even stamped it with a fingerprint.

However, he added, “He only sent 1 million KRW in the first month and has not contacted me since.”

A lawyer appearing with him explained the legal issue, saying, “If a person who manages funds uses public money without permission, it legally falls under occupational embezzlement.”

The lawyer also said, “Even if the money is returned later, the crime that was already established does not disappear.”

After hearing this, Lee Chang Sub asked, “So there is still a crime?” When the lawyer answered yes, he showed a bitter expression.

Meanwhile, Lee Chang Sub continues to be active as BTOB’s main vocalist while also working on solo music, musicals, and variety shows.
