Singer IU has directly put an end to long-running rumors about a feud with Lee Hyori, showing that their friendship is still strong after years.
On April 8, IU appeared as a guest on MBC FM4U’s radio show hosted by Lee Sang Soon. The two warmly greeted each other, with Lee Sang Soon saying it had been a long time since they last met, explaining that they had stayed in touch and even worked together, but had been too busy to meet in person.
IU responded with a heartfelt comment, saying, “I decided to appear without even one second of hesitation because I could see you,” showing her close connection with him.
The friendship between IU, Lee Hyori, and Lee Sang Soon goes back to their time together on the show ‘Hyori’s Homestay’, where they lived and worked together.
Lee Sang Soon also shared that he has been watching IU’s past project with his wife, saying, “We cried a lot while watching it together. We talked while crying. It was very enjoyable, so I’m looking forward to this one too.”
IU then promoted her upcoming drama and even asked if he would watch the broadcast. Lee Sang Soon replied warmly, “We usually sleep around 9:20 PM, but weekends are an exception. We will make sure to watch it,” creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
In the past, rumors of a falling out started after fans noticed that IU and Lee Hyori were no longer following each other on social media, along with Lee Hyori’s absence from IU’s concert despite other ‘Hyori’s Homestay’ cast members attending.
However, these rumors had already been quietly addressed before. Lee Hyori previously mentioned IU in a positive way, saying that IU is someone who “takes care of us sincerely,” showing there was no bad relationship.
Through this recent appearance and their warm interactions, IU has clearly put an end to the long-standing speculation and reaffirmed their lasting friendship.
