JTBC’s Friday drama ‘Still Shining’ has issued an official apology after facing controversy over scenes that appeared to show drunk and hangover driving, while the show continues to struggle with low ratings.

The Korea Communications Standards Commission confirmed that a complaint was filed regarding the scene.

In episode 8, a character said, “I can’t drive anyway” and “I’ll leave quietly at dawn once I sober up”, but was later shown driving immediately after drinking, which raised concerns among viewers.

The complainant criticized the drama, saying it “repeatedly presented scenes that could be interpreted as drunk or hangover driving” without clearly warning against the behavior, and instead used it to create “tension and emotional conflict”, making it problematic.

In response, the production team stated, “We humbly accept the concerns raised and will be especially careful to prevent similar issues from happening again.”

The commission is currently reviewing the complaint to decide whether further action will be taken.

Meanwhile, ‘Still Shining’, starring Jinyoung and Kim Min Ju, has seen a drop in ratings, starting at 2.1 percent and falling to 0.8 percent, showing a continued decline.
