Comedian Jo Se Ho is facing more heat as the whistleblower who first accused him of having ties to an alleged gangster spoke up again, sharing new comments that are stirring even more attention online.
On December 9, before Jo Se Ho officially announced his program departures, whistleblower A posted on social media saying they had spoken with “someone close to Jo Se Ho and Choi,” the man at the center of the controversy.
According to A, the acquaintance said, “I can understand why Se Ho talks like that. He needs to escape the situation and he may feel it’s unfair. But public opinion reacts strongly even when someone is simply connected to criminals.”
A added that while Jo Se Ho may see things as just helping a friend’s business or receiving gifts, the public sees the situation differently because he is a well-known public figure. A warned that if more details come out, “Jo Se Ho will lose,” pointing out that many people around Choi are involved and that the relationship appears “one-sided, with Jo Se Ho receiving everything.”
A also repeated their earlier claims, saying that promoting a company tied to illegal profits—if true—would be “something he should be criticized for.”
Jo Se Ho’s agency 2Z Entertainment previously denied the allegations, calling them “personal guesses, not facts,” and confirmed they are reviewing legal action against A for spreading false information. Still, the agency acknowledged that Jo Se Ho and Choi were “acquaintances.”
Following the growing controversy, Jo Se Ho announced he will step down from 1 Night 2 Days and You Quiz on the Block. Through his agency, he stated he feels “deep responsibility for the misunderstandings and controversy,” but firmly denied ever receiving money or gifts from Choi.
