Actor Lee Kwang Soo made fans laugh after confidently saying he was the original trendsetter of toe shoes—long before BLACKPINK’s Jennie made them popular.
In the October 17 episode of tvN’s variety show “Kong Sim Eun De Kong Naseo Useum Pang Haengbok Pang Overseas Exploration,” Lee Kwang Soo caught everyone’s attention the moment he arrived for filming. Not only did he sport a flashy tooth gem, but he also showed up wearing the now-trendy toe shoes.
When the camera zoomed in on his unique footwear, the actor immediately got shy, saying, “Why are you zooming in? Don’t do that. Just film naturally.”
He jokingly explained, “I wore these for hiking,” which made Do Kyung Soo laugh and ask, “Are those really hiking shoes?”
Lee replied, “You use all your toes when you walk in them,” while Kim Woo Bin added that the shoes are actually “trendy these days.”
Surprised, Lee Kwang Soo said, “I didn’t know they were trendy. I just found out now. I’ve been wearing them since I was young—really,” claiming that he’s the true OG behind the style.
Interestingly, toe shoes have recently gone viral again after Jennie and Lee Hyori were spotted wearing them, but it seems Lee Kwang Soo wants everyone to know—he did it first!
