The summer comedy The Devil Has Moved In, starring Im Yoon Ah and Ahn Bo Hyun, is heating up not only in Korea but also overseas as it secures multiple international release dates.
After drawing warm laughter and positive word of mouth in Korea, the movie has been performing strongly in overseas sales, spreading the charm of Korean cinema abroad.
The film officially opened in Indonesia on August 20 and Singapore on August 21, with Taiwan confirmed for August 29. In September, it will also be released in Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong, and Mongolia.
In particular, for its Vietnam release on September 5, the production went the extra mile by hiring well-known Vietnamese actors for the dubbing cast, showing strong efforts to localize the movie. With Korean films increasingly being remade and directors collaborating globally, all eyes are on how the Vietnamese-dubbed version will be received.
Beyond Asia, release dates in Japan and several South American countries are also being finalized, proving the film’s wide international appeal.
The Devil Has Moved In tells the comedic story of Gil Gu (Ahn Bo Hyun), an unemployed man who suddenly takes on a strange part-time job: watching over Seon Ji (Im Yoon Ah), a woman who turns into a devil every dawn. The film is currently showing in theaters across Korea.
