Actress Kim Tae Hee is earning praise for her powerful presence in her first Hollywood project, Amazon Prime Video’s Butterfly (also airing on tvN in Korea).

She plays Kim Eun Ju, the wife of former U.S. intelligence agent David Jung (portrayed by Daniel Dae Kim), and delivers calm, emotional acting that stands out on the global stage.

Without flashy styling, Kim Tae Hee portrays a realistic, warm, and wise character, adding authenticity to the drama. Viewers also highlighted her smooth bilingual performance in both English and Korean, noting how naturally she fits the role.

Sharing her thoughts on the project, Kim Tae Hee said, “Without any special setup, I played a character that felt the closest to myself — the most like the real me. Even though it’s an action thriller, it also has many touching family stories, so I hope people look forward to it.”

Fans reacted enthusiastically, leaving comments like, “It’s been a while since we saw actress Kim Tae Hee,” “When she appears, my attention goes straight to her,” and “Her fluent English acting is so natural.”

According to OTT ranking tracker FlixPatrol, since its release on the 13th, Butterfly has ranked No. 2 worldwide on Prime Video’s TV shows chart, and also reached No. 1 in 12 countries, including the U.S., Norway, Singapore, and Malaysia, while entering the Top 10 in many others.

Known for memorable roles in Lies Hidden in My Garden, Hi Bye, Mama!, IRIS, and Stairway to Heaven, Kim Tae Hee now proves her global potential with Butterfly.

The series is available on Amazon Prime Video and airs in Korea on tvN every Friday and Saturday at 10:40 p.m.
