BTS’s Jungkook makes history again on Spotify with unstoppable global success

BTS’s Jungkook continues to set new records and prove his global star power — even while serving in the military!

Jungkook’s solo debut track “Seven,” which came out in July 2023, has now stayed on the Spotify Weekly Top Songs Global chart for 105 weeks straight, ranking at No. 89 for the week of July 11–17. This makes “Seven” the first and longest-running song by an Asian solo artist in the history of the chart.

That’s not all — his first solo album “GOLDEN”, released in November 2023, climbed 9 spots to land at No. 63 on the Spotify Weekly Top Albums Global chart for the same week. It has now remained on the album chart for 89 weeks in a row, also setting a record as the longest-charting album by an Asian solo artist.

Even with no new promotions after enlisting in the military, Jungkook re-entered the Spotify Weekly Top Artists Global chart for that same week and has now appeared on that chart for 111 weeks total.

As of July 24 (KST), “Seven” has surpassed a massive 2.458 billion streams on Spotify and now ranks as the 80th most-streamed song ever on the platform. “GOLDEN” has also made history as the first album by an Asian soloist to collect over 5.8 billion total streams.

The success doesn’t stop there — “Seven” is still going strong on Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts, hitting 104 and 105 weeks respectively. Again, Jungkook is the first and only Asian solo artist to reach that milestone.

On top of all this, Jungkook’s personal Spotify profile (counting all credited works) has now hit 9.2 billion total streams, making him the fastest Asian act ever to do so and the first K-pop solo artist to reach that number. He also continues to shine with over 17.5 million monthly listeners.

Even while away, Jungkook is dominating the charts — and fans can’t wait to see what he breaks next!
