Rookie boy group TWS is taking over Japan! The group — made up of Shin Yu, Do Hoon, Young Jae, Han Jin, Ji Hoon, and Kyung Min — just scored a major win by topping two major Japanese charts with their debut Japanese single.

According to Oricon on July 10, TWS’s first Japanese single, “Nice to see you again” (Japanese title: Hajimemashite), grabbed the #1 spot on the Weekly Combined Singles Chart, which covers the week of June 30 to July 6. That’s not all — they also ranked #1 on the Weekly Singles Chart for the same period.

This makes them double chart-toppers on Oricon!

The Weekly Combined Singles Ranking includes points from CD sales, digital downloads, and streaming. TWS’s “Nice to see you again” scored a total of 154,763 points, which is more than twice the score of their Korean debut single “Last Bell”, which earned 77,346 points in its first week last year.

Oricon even noted, “This is the highest score for a single released by a foreign artist in 2025 so far.” The group also recorded the best first-week sales among all foreign artists in Japan this year.

Their popularity didn’t stop there. On Billboard Japan, TWS hit #1 on the ‘Top Single Sales’ chart, and their title track also reached #1 on the ‘Hot 100’ for the same week.

Their single “Nice to see you again” delivers a sweet and emotional vibe, like a heart-fluttering moment on a sunny summer day. The song perfectly shows off the group’s refreshing and youthful energy, earning them the title of “youth icons” in Japan.

The performance adds to the charm — especially the choreography that shows nervousness and excitement when meeting someone again. Fans especially loved the dance where members shyly wipe their hands on their pants and greet someone like it’s been a while. Other standout moves include hand gestures like fireworks and a lantern send-off, giving major summer festival feels.

TWS is now ready to spread their “K-Cool” charm across Japan with their first Japanese tour!

Their tour, called “2025 TWS TOUR ‘24/7: WITH: US’ IN JAPAN”, kicks off July 11 in Hiroshima and will hit six cities, with a total of 13 shows:

  • Aichi (July 13–15)
  • Fukuoka (July 17–18)
  • Miyagi (July 25–26)
  • Osaka (July 28–30)
  • Kanagawa (August 9–10)

With strong music chart results and a fresh, lovable image, TWS is proving they’re not just rising stars — they’re already leading the wave of global K-pop success in Japan.
