BTS member Jin is proving once again that he’s not just “Worldwide Handsome,” but Worldwide Wanted—especially in Japan!
From May 16 to 30, Japanese media site Danmee ran a fun fan poll asking, “If this person appears, I’d buy it without thinking! Which Korean male star do you want to see in Japanese food commercials?”
Out of 4,779 total votes, Jin came out on top, grabbing 1,807 votes and an impressive 37.81% of the total—earning him the No.1 spot.
This win highlights Jin’s incredible popularity in Japan, with fans excited to see his face tied to any product—especially food!

Danmee officially announced the results on their website and X (formerly Twitter), even pointing out that Jin’s previous ads, like his iconic Jin Ramen campaign for Ottogi, left a strong impression.
In fact, back in 2022, he became a hot topic for his visuals and charm in the ramen commercial, and in 2025, he was re-selected as global model for the brand.
Japanese fans shared sweet and funny reactions in the poll’s comment section, saying:
- “Jin’s Jin Ramen CF is so handsome,”
- “If Jin appears in a Japanese food commercial, I’ll fill my basket,”
- “If it’s Jin, it’s a bokmae (explosive buy)!”
The Jin effect is real: when he joined Ottogi as their model, ramen exports reached record highs, showing just how strong his influence is.
Industry insiders even credited Jin—alongside the global wave sparked by Parasite—as one of the key reasons Korean ramen became such a hit abroad.
But Jin’s power doesn’t stop with ramen.

From Gucci, FRED, and Dolby, to Laneige, Alo, and even being an ambassador for Seoul tourism, Jin continues to land big-name global partnerships, earning titles like “Sold-Out King” and “Top Global Superstar”.
On top of that, his latest solo single “Don’t Say You Love Me” from his new album Echo (released May 16 KST) is performing amazingly in Japan.
It topped Spotify’s Top Songs Japan chart on May 20, making him the longest-running No.1 male K-pop soloist and tying the record for No.1 solo K-pop song without a feature.
Whether it’s music, fashion, or food—if Jin’s face is on it, fans are ready to buy!
