Lee Chae Yeon has officially apologized after getting into an emotional argument with ONF fans over her recent flea market event video.
On May 26, Lee Chae Yeon took to the fan platform Fromm to share a heartfelt message, saying she felt bad about how things turned out and admitted that she was too emotional in her earlier post.
“I didn’t want to just stay silent because that would make things worse,” she wrote. “I was upset when I wrote that post, and even though I tried not to sound emotional, I now realize I really was. I’m sorry.”
The issue started when Chae Yeon released a video about a flea market event she hosted, which included ONF members E-Tion, Seungjun, and Min Kyun, along with Baekho and Kei. Some ONF fans were upset that the video came out just a week before ONF’s solo concert, thinking it might affect the group negatively.
Chae Yeon tried to clear things up in her earlier post by explaining that the event was filmed with everyone’s full permission. “Since starting YouTube, I’ve never forced anyone to appear. Everyone, even for thumbnails, gave their okay,” she said. “I told everyone the behind-the-scenes would be filmed and made it clear.”
She also shared that her company didn’t know about the video and told her not to upload it, which added to the confusion. Responding to fans’ criticism, she got emotional and said, “If it was a problem, why come at all? Why make the other guests and staff suffer? This started with good intentions—why is it becoming something bad?”
Chae Yeon added that she even adjusted the event schedule for ONF’s convenience. “I told them not to come if it didn’t work with their schedule. They really wanted to be there,” she said. “Each guest joined based on timing and availability.”
But after seeing that her response hurt others, Chae Yeon followed up with another post to apologize. “I know not everyone agrees with me, but it really hurt to see others upset,” she said. “I feel like I ruined the happy mood before our big fan meeting. I’m truly sorry.”
She continued, “The world is already hard enough. I hope we can calm down and support each other. I’ll be more careful in the future so I don’t hurt anyone, especially my seniors and fans.”
She ended with a promise: “I’ll manage my content more carefully from now on. I take responsibility and sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt.”
Lee Chae Yeon’s final message helped bring closure to the issue, as she reflected on her actions and promised to handle things better moving forward.
