• BTS Jungkook Makes History with Fastest 15 Million Followers on Spotify in Asia

BTS's Jungkook has achieved a remarkable milestone, becoming the fastest Asian artist to reach 15 million followers on Spotify, the world's largest music platform.

Recently, Jungkook surpassed 15 million followers on his personal Spotify profile in just about 2 years and 4 months since its creation. This achievement highlights his global influence, establishing him as a "global icon" by hitting 15 million followers less than a year after his solo debut activities began.

According to sources like 'Viral Takes' and 'EXECUTIVE MEDIA,' Jungkook set a new record as the quickest Asian artist to reach 15 million followers on Spotify.

Despite no recent group or solo promotions, Jungkook continues to maintain a strong presence as a global artist. He currently boasts 23 million monthly listeners on Spotify, a key metric reflecting an artist's popularity based on unique listens per month.

Previously, Jungkook made headlines as the first K-pop soloist to exceed 40 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He also gained over 570,000 followers within the first 24 hours of opening his personal account, setting a record for the fastest Asian solo artist to do so.

Jungkook's Spotify account has accumulated an impressive 6.4 billion streams (pre-filtering). Notably, his solo single 'Seven' alone has surpassed 1.7 billion streams, with collaborations like 'Left and Right' reaching over 960 million streams. His achievements include the track 'Standing Next to You' from the 'GOLDEN' album with over 730 million streams, '3D' with over 590 million streams, 'Dreamers' for the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup soundtrack with over 420 million streams, and the webtoon OST 'Stay Alive' with over 300 million streams.

During Spotify's '2023 Wrapped' year-end campaign, Jungkook recorded an impressive 2.2 billion streams, the highest among K-pop solo artists.

Since starting his solo career in July last year, Jungkook has garnered nearly 1 billion listeners, achieving a total listenership of approximately 994 million within a year.

Jungkook has also set four Guinness World Records, including the shortest time for a K-pop solo artist to reach 1 billion streams with songs like 'Dreamers,' 'Left and Right,' and 'Stay Alive,' and achieving the highest weekly streams among global male artists on Spotify with 'Seven' at 89.74 million streams (post-filtering). His rapid rise has solidified his legacy in the music industry.

  • NewJeans Minji writes touching letter on her birthday during activity halt: “We didn’t stop and we won’t stop”

NewJeans' Minji touched fans' hearts with a handwritten letter on her birthday — even while the group is currently unable to promote due to legal issues.

On May 7, Minji celebrated her birthday by sharing a heartfelt message on the group’s personal SNS account, which the members opened themselves to stay connected with fans.

Minji began her letter with honesty, writing, “I think I’m living a busier life than I expected. When I finally looked up, it was already May, and it was my birthday.”

She admitted that she had a lot she wanted to say, but her thoughts felt “messy.” Still, her message to fans was clear, “I just hope that I, our members, and Bunnies can all be happy. Happiness is the biggest goal in my life.”

Minji then opened up about her personal journey and struggles, saying, “I sometimes think that running toward my happiness by doing what I love might look foolish to others. But isn’t giving up your happiness now for the sake of a future that might not even come… too harsh on yourself?”

Despite everything, she ended on a hopeful note, “I really miss the times when we shared our feelings through the good music we made together. But I always look forward to what’s ahead."

She added, "We didn’t stop here, and we’re not going to stop! It might look like we’re standing still, but I believe we’re growing deeper.”

Her message comes during a difficult time for NewJeans. The group announced last year that they were cutting ties with ADOR, their original agency, after trust was broken. They later began working independently under the new name ‘NJZ’.

However, ADOR responded with legal action — claiming the exclusive contract with NewJeans was still valid and asking the court to stop the group from promoting or signing deals.

The court sided with ADOR and granted an injunction, forcing NewJeans to pause their activities. Their appeal was rejected, and they’ve now filed a second appeal.

Through it all, Minji’s message proves one thing — even when forced to stop, NewJeans' hearts are still moving forward.
