Actor Choo Young Woo has shared an unusual story about having his university admission canceled despite originally being accepted.

During an appearance on *Yoo Yeon Seok’s Weekend Theater*, Yoo Yeon Seok asked Choo Young Woo about the universities he had been accepted to before attending Korea National University of Arts.

Choo Young Woo mentioned Seoul Institute of the Arts and Sejong University, surprising Yoo Yeon Seok, who graduated from Sejong University.

Yoo Yeon Seok joked, *“You could have become my junior.”*

However, Choo Young Woo explained that he did not voluntarily give up his Sejong University admission.

*“There’s a story behind it. My admission was canceled,”* he said. *“I was given the wrong registration date, so my acceptance was canceled.”*

According to Choo Young Woo, he missed the tuition registration period because of the incorrect information he had received. He said the student who was first on the waiting list was then admitted in his place through the university’s system.

*“So I had to prepare for college entrance again. It’s a sad story,”* he added.

Yoo Yeon Seok reacted with sympathy and joked that if they had known each other at the time, he might have reminded Choo Young Woo about the registration deadline.

The conversation then took a lighter turn when Choo Young Woo asked whether Yoo Yeon Seok had graduated from Sejong University. Yoo Yeon Seok replied, *“I graduated, and now I go there to teach. I used to be called the ghost of Sejong University, but thankfully I ended up becoming a professor.”*

Choo Young Woo’s story drew attention for the unexpected setback he experienced before eventually continuing his studies and pursuing his acting career.
