Kim Woo Bin is taking on a new challenge as a high school baseball coach in tvN’s upcoming weekend drama "Gift".
The series follows Jung Min Yong, a former professional baseball pitching coach who gains a special ability after an unexpected accident. He later becomes the manager of Deokcheon High School’s baseball team, which is ranked at the bottom nationally.
Kim Woo Bin plays Jung Min Yong, a coach known for judging players based on their talent and limits. He once believed strongly in hard work and the process of growth, but after going through several difficult experiences, he begins to place more trust in visible talent.
Newly released stills show Kim Woo Bin fully transformed into the character, wearing the team jacket and cap while standing among the players.
In another image, he watches the field in sunglasses with a serious expression, showing the character’s strict and controlled personality. Other photos show him holding a bat and working closely with the team, hinting at his deep connection to baseball.
The role marks another change in Kim Woo Bin’s acting career as he takes on a sports drama centered on competition, talent, effort, and personal growth.
"Gift" is based on the popular Kakao webtoon of the same name by Jung Iriiri.
The drama is scheduled to premiere on December 5 at 9:10 p.m. KST on tvN.
