TWICE member Jeongyeon is taking a new step in her career by making her official big-screen acting debut.

Jeongyeon has joined the cast of the upcoming film New Recruit: Haunted Military Hospital, marking her first appearance in a feature film.

The movie expands the popular New Recruit drama series into theaters, this time combining its familiar military comedy with horror elements.

Jeongyeon will play a nursing officer named Yoo Jeongyeon, giving viewers a chance to see a different side of the longtime K-pop idol as she begins exploring acting.

Actor Ryu Kyung Soo is also joining the film as Yoo Jae Hoon, a mysterious soldier staying at the military hospital.

The story follows the familiar soldiers from New Recruit after they enter a military hospital expecting a comfortable break, only to encounter strange rumors and unexpected events inside the facility.

Director Min Jin Ki, who also worked on the original series, will return for the movie adaptation.

For Jeongyeon, the project represents a notable move beyond her activities with TWICE and into acting, making her screen debut one of the film’s most closely watched new additions.

New Recruit: Haunted Military Hospital is scheduled to be released in theaters this winter.
