SEVENTEEN has brought back one of the most popular games from GOING SEVENTEEN after a three-year break.
On September 30, the group released EP.162: What Happened on Set: Don’t Lie #1 through its official YouTube channel, marking the return of the fan-favorite Don’t Lie series.
First introduced in 2020, Don’t Lie combines a mafia-style deduction game with a treasure hunt. The series has become one of the best-known formats from GOING SEVENTEEN, with several previous episodes surpassing 10 million views.
The latest version also introduces upgraded rules and several new roles.
Along with familiar roles such as doctor and police officer, the game now includes characters with different goals and abilities. These include a modified mafia member who must eliminate another mafia player, a sniper who can secretly remove players, and a revolutionary who can choose another player to be eliminated with them.
Other new roles include a troublemaker who can switch players’ jobs and a goblin character who can only win by being eliminated.
Because each role has different conditions for winning or losing, the new season adds more strategy and unpredictability to the game.
With Don’t Lie returning after three years, SEVENTEEN is once again revisiting one of the most popular recurring concepts from GOING SEVENTEEN, this time with a more complicated set of rules designed to keep both the members and viewers guessing.
