Actor Koo Kyo Hwan and film director Lee Ok Seop have been legally married since 2022, according to a new confirmation from his agency.
On October 1, Koo Kyo Hwan's agency Namoo Actors confirmed that the longtime couple officially registered their marriage four years ago.
The two did not hold a wedding ceremony and reportedly do not have plans to hold one in the future.
The agency shared, “The two have continued to stay by each other's side as their closest colleagues and family.”
Koo Kyo Hwan and Lee Ok Seop first became close while working together on the short film A Dangerous Woman in 2013. They later developed a romantic relationship and publicly confirmed that they were dating in 2020.
After around nine years together, the couple legally became husband and wife in 2022, although the news was not made public at the time.
Beyond their relationship, Koo Kyo Hwan and Lee Ok Seop have also built a long creative partnership. They have worked together on several films, including Maggie, Three, and Romeo: The Sin of Having Eyes, and also operate the collaborative filmmaking group 2X9HD.
They are continuing to work together on upcoming projects, including Your Country and Love Counselor.
The newly confirmed marriage registration reveals that the couple had already taken the legal step toward marriage years before the information became publicly known.
