BTS has reached a major Billboard Boxscore milestone with their ongoing world tour, becoming the first pop group to generate more than 500 million USD from a single tour.

According to Billboard's latest Boxscore data released on September 30, BTS' BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ has officially surpassed 500 million USD in cumulative ticket revenue since opening in Goyang, South Korea, in April.

Reaching the 500 million USD mark with one tour is rare in Billboard Boxscore history. Fewer than 20 tours have reportedly crossed the milestone, while BTS became only the seventh group to accomplish it.

What makes the achievement particularly notable is that the six groups previously reaching the mark were established rock bands. BTS is therefore the first pop group to pass 500 million USD in Billboard Boxscore revenue from a single tour.

The group also returned to No. 1 on Billboard's monthly Top Tours chart after an especially strong August.

BTS held 12 concerts during the month, attracting around 800,000 concertgoers and earning approximately 171.7 million USD in ticket revenue. Billboard reported that it was the second-highest monthly tour gross recorded in Boxscore history, behind Beyoncé's approximately 179.3 million USD in August 2023.

The result also marked BTS' fifth time reaching No. 1 on Billboard's Top Tours chart.

Their North American stadium dates contributed heavily to the latest numbers. All 12 shows across six cities sold out, with all six stops appearing on Billboard's August Top Boxscore chart and five entering the Top 10.

Among them, BTS' two concerts at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey generated approximately 32.7 million USD while drawing around 158,000 attendees.

The tour is far from finished. With roughly 40 performances reportedly remaining on the schedule, Billboard noted that the final total could potentially approach or surpass 1 billion USD if the tour continues performing at its current scale.

For now, the 500 million USD milestone places BTS in a small group of touring acts in Billboard Boxscore history while giving the group a new distinction as the first pop group to reach the mark with a single tour.
