Kim Ji Won may be one of Korea’s most recognizable drama actresses, but she says she can still ride public transportation without attracting much attention.
The actress appeared alongside Lee Jung Eun on the YouTube show Salon Drip while promoting their upcoming SBS drama Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia.
During the conversation, host Jang Do Yeon revealed that all three of them had something unexpected in common: they regularly use the subway.
Lee Jung Eun asked Kim Ji Won if she also takes the subway often, and Kim Ji Won replied, “I ride it often too.”
Surprised, Lee Jung Eun responded, “People must recognize you.”
Kim Ji Won then gave an unexpected answer, saying, “Unfortunately, they don’t recognize me at all.”
The casual confession drew attention because of Kim Ji Won’s popularity from several hit dramas, yet she explained that she is apparently still able to travel around by subway without being easily noticed.
Lee Jung Eun also shared that she frequently uses the subway and usually wears a hat. She added that when people do recognize her, they tend to approach quietly and politely to ask for a photo.
Meanwhile, Kim Ji Won and Lee Jung Eun will appear together in Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia. The drama follows skilled freelance surgeon Gye Soo Jung, played by Kim Ji Won, as she confronts corruption inside a hospital.
Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia is scheduled to premiere on October 9 at 9:50 p.m. KST on SBS.
