Park Seo Ham’s new drama Dive Into You is starting its story with a surprising twist involving his character in the very first episode.
The new Disney+ and Channel A drama follows top actress Yoon Ha Na, played by Kim Ji Yeon, whose soul is switched with her twin brother following a mysterious accident. She eventually finds herself returning to the past and trying to change the fate of her first love.
Park Seo Ham plays Jung Woo Jae, Yoon Ha Na’s longtime friend, first love, and current bodyguard.
Despite being one of the drama’s main characters, Jung Woo Jae dies during the opening episode while protecting Yoon Ha Na from an attacker.
The two characters have been close since high school and continued to remain by each other’s side as adults, with Yoon Ha Na becoming a successful actress and Jung Woo Jae working as her bodyguard. However, neither had fully expressed their feelings despite their long history together.
The tragedy occurs during an awards ceremony attended by Yoon Ha Na. When an attacker targets her, Jung Woo Jae attempts to protect her and is fatally injured.
Newly released stills preview the dramatic sequence, showing Yoon Ha Na celebrating an acting award before the situation suddenly changes. Jung Woo Jae is later seen protecting the area outside her waiting room before collapsing from his injuries.
Rather than marking the end of Park Seo Ham’s involvement in the story, Jung Woo Jae’s death serves as a major event that sets the drama’s central storyline in motion, with Yoon Ha Na eventually facing an opportunity to revisit the past.
Dive Into You premieres September 26 on Disney+ and Channel A.
