i-dle’s Yuqi is showing a more vulnerable side of herself ahead of her upcoming solo comeback.
On September 24, Cube Entertainment released the intro film for Yuqi’s second mini album 二十七 (27) through i-dle’s official social media accounts.
The cinematic video presents contrasting versions of Yuqi while exploring fear, uncertainty, self-acceptance, and personal growth. Through a Chinese narration, Yuqi openly reflects on emotions she usually keeps hidden.
She says, “You were never naturally a brave person. You are afraid of losing something and afraid of saying goodbye to someone.”
Rather than presenting fear as a weakness, Yuqi uses the message to comfort herself and accept the different sides of her personality.
She continues, “I like every side of you. I also like the part of you that believes in the world with a pure heart.”
Yuqi also challenges the idea that people always need to respond to life in the “right” way.
She says, “There is no answer in this world that is 100% correct. The way you cry easily and laugh easily is not wrong either. Living freely and passionately is what makes you who you are.”
The sunflower featured throughout the video also reflects the album’s central theme. After appearing burned and damaged, it eventually returns to its bright form as Yuqi begins accepting and comforting herself.
Yuqi ends the narration with a message to her 27-year-old self, saying, “I hope that at 27, you will always grow toward the sunlight like a sunflower.”
The concept connects directly to the title of 二十七 (27), which is inspired by Yuqi’s current age and presents 27 as a period of bright moments mixed with deeper worries and uncertainty.
Yuqi’s second mini album 二十七 (27) will be released on October 8. Ahead of the comeback, she is also preparing her TODAY WITH GIGI character pop-up and 2026 YUQI Fan-Con ‘27’ across four cities in China.
