Choi Min Sik and Han So Hee’s new film The Intern continues to lead the Korean box office ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
According to data from the Korean Film Council, The Intern attracted 33,849 moviegoers on September 21, keeping the No. 1 position at the daily box office for the sixth consecutive day.
The film has now recorded a total audience of 437,744 and is approaching the 500,000 admissions mark.
The Intern follows Sun Woo, played by Han So Hee, whose company has quickly emerged as a rising name in the fashion industry. Her workplace changes when Ki Ho, played by Choi Min Sik, joins the company as a senior intern with 37 years of professional experience.
The film focuses on the unlikely workplace relationship between two people separated by both generation and position.
The Intern also reached No. 1 on its opening day, becoming the first Korean film in about 50 days to top the domestic box office.
With the Chuseok holiday approaching, the film has continued to hold its lead through its first six days in theaters.
Meanwhile, *The Odyssey* placed second with audience numbers close to The Intern. Its cumulative admissions have reached approximately 11.25 million.
*Obsession* and *Resident Evil: Night Zero* followed in the rankings.
