Bona revealed that playing a top actress in Dive Into You meant going through more than 100 different outfits during filming.
The WJSN member and actress, also known as Kim Ji Yeon, shared the behind-the-scenes detail during the September 22 online press conference for the upcoming Disney+ and Channel A drama.
In the series, Bona plays Yoon Hana, one of Korea’s most popular actresses. Because of the character’s celebrity image, Bona said she was able to show many different styles throughout the story.
She explained, “Because she is a top actress, there were a lot of pretty scenes, which I liked. I think I wore more than 100 outfits.”
Bona added that the styling changed depending on the period and situation.
“I also wore men’s clothes, and the university scenes had a different feeling, so it was fun,” she said.
The role also gave Bona a chance to play a brighter character than usual.
“This is the first time I’ve played someone who smiles this brightly,” she shared. “I think Hana influenced me because I became brighter and more playful too.”
Co-star Moon Seung You also praised Bona’s presence as the fictional top star, especially during an award ceremony scene in the first episode.
Dive Into You follows twins Yoon Hana and Yoon Haru after they discover that an old camcorder can take them into the past. The two travel back in time in an effort to save Jung Woo Jae, leading to a first-love romance mixed with a time-travel story.
The drama premieres September 26 on Disney+ and Channel A.
