Bona and Park Seo Ham reveal their unexpected connection before starring in 'Dive Into You'

Bona and Park Seo Ham revealed that they actually share a long connection dating back to their idol debut days, even though they were never personally close at the time.

The two stars spoke about working together in the upcoming Disney+ and Channel A drama Dive Into You during its online press conference on September 22.

Bona, also known as Kim Ji Yeon, debuted with WJSN in 2016, while Park Seo Ham debuted with KNK the same year.

Park Seo Ham explained that despite being debut peers, they only recognized each other back then.

“We debuted around the same time, but we weren’t actually close. We only knew each other by face,” he said.

He added that Bona had started acting before him, and he remembered watching her career as he adjusted to working as an actor.

“When I started acting on my own, there were difficult parts while adapting. I thought it was impressive watching Ji Yeon continue her activities,” he said.

Park Seo Ham also praised Bona for being thoughtful and supportive while filming.

“She is very detailed and considerate. She notices how the other person is feeling and helps them, and she always gives 100 percent in every take so I can fully focus,” he said.

Bona shared a similar feeling about their reunion, saying their shared idol background created an unexpected sense of connection.

“We didn’t know each other back then, but because we went through that same period, there was a kind of comradeship between us,” she said.

She added that meeting again in 2026 as the leads of the same drama felt especially meaningful.

“It felt emotional that we ended up meeting again as the main characters in one drama. We became close very quickly,” Bona said.

She also explained that Park Seo Ham helped make the atmosphere comfortable on set, especially during difficult scenes.

Dive Into You follows twin siblings who discover that an old camcorder can take them back in time as they try to save Jung Woo Jae, leading to a first-love romance with a time-travel twist.

The drama is scheduled to premiere on September 26 through Disney+ and Channel A.
