THE BOYZ leader Sangyeon has officially completed his mandatory military service, becoming the first member of the group to finish his enlistment.
Sangyeon was discharged on September 16 after completing his service in Goesan, North Chungcheong Province.
The singer originally enlisted on March 17, 2025 and served on active duty as a member of the Army military band.
Members of THE BOYZ were expected to join Sangyeon at the site to celebrate his return, highlighting the group’s close bond after more than a year apart.
With his discharge, Sangyeon becomes the first THE BOYZ member to complete mandatory military service.
His return also comes as THE BOYZ prepares for its next chapter under Seven8 Records. The group recently moved to the newly established label following a contractual dispute with former agency ONE HUNDRED.
In April, a court granted the members’ request for an injunction related to the validity of their exclusive contracts, leading to their departure from the former agency.
With Sangyeon back from military service, THE BOYZ is expected to continue activities as a nine-member group under its new management.
