Chungha and former BBGIRLS member Yujeong are facing criticism online after a theatergoer accused them of disruptive behavior during a musical performance.
The two singers reportedly attended the musical Portrait of a Boy on September 15 after being invited by singer and actor Yoon Ji Sung, who appears in the production.
Following the performance, an audience member posted on social media claiming that Chungha and Yujeong had been seated directly behind them and allegedly displayed poor theater etiquette during the show.
According to the post, the theatergoer claimed the pair repeatedly turned on their phone screens during the performance and sat with their legs raised on the seats.
The audience member wrote, “Even if you’re a celebrity, you should follow basic manners. Even if they weren’t celebrities, this would still disturb other people watching the show.”
The person further alleged that they attempted to speak to the two after the curtain call about using phones during the performance.
They claimed, “When I tried to tell them that phones shouldn’t be turned on during the show, they glared at me and just left. I hope this doesn’t happen again. It was really difficult for me today.”
The allegations quickly spread through online communities, where some users criticized the reported behavior because Portrait of a Boy is being performed at a relatively small theater, meaning bright phone screens or other distractions could potentially affect nearby audience members.
However, the claims currently come from an individual audience member’s account, and Chungha and Yujeong have not publicly responded to the allegations.
Yoon Ji Sung later shared photos with Chungha, Yujeong, and WJSN’s Yeonjung on Instagram after the performance, writing, “Thank you for coming to see the show, princesses.”
Yeonjung was not mentioned in the theatergoer’s allegations.
As discussion continues online, attention is now focused on whether Chungha or Yujeong will address the claims surrounding their alleged theater etiquette.
