Gong Hyo Jin’s MBC drama A Bona fide Killer wrapped up its run with its strongest ratings yet, ending the series on a high note.
According to Nielsen Korea, the September 12 finale recorded a nationwide household rating of 10.7% and 10.4% in the Seoul metropolitan area, marking a new personal best for the drama.
The episode also ranked No. 1 across all channels in its time slot.
Its highest-rated moment climbed to 12.5%, coming during an emotional scene involving Kwon Tae Sung as he looked back on memories with Yoo Bo Na several months after their separation.
The drama also performed strongly among younger and middle-aged viewers. Its 20 to 54 demographic rating reached 3.2%, placing first among all programs aired that day.
The finale centered on Yoo Bo Na, played by Gong Hyo Jin, as the truth about her hidden identity and her complicated relationship with Kwon Tae Sung came to a head.
During the final confrontation, Yoo Bo Na was placed in serious danger while trying to protect Kwon Tae Sung. After surviving the incident, she learned that her husband already knew the truth about her secret life.
Kwon Tae Sung told her, “I only came to one conclusion. I want to protect you.”
However, Yoo Bo Na believed their relationship could no longer return to the way it was before and chose to leave.
Six months later, the couple met again, giving them a chance to face the truth about their relationship. Kwon Tae Sung told her, “Now I want to know everything, so I can love every side of Yoo Bo Na.”
The drama closed by showing Yoo Bo Na returning to an ordinary family life, but one final moment suggested that her instincts had not completely disappeared.
After hearing news about another violent case, she quietly said, “Okay, shall we go?”
With a 12.5% peak rating, a new series high, and first place in its time slot, A Bona fide Killer ended its run with strong audience interest and a finale that left the door open to Yoo Bo Na’s next chapter.
