Actress Ha Ji Won showed just how deep her curiosity about space goes, even earning praise from popular science communicator Orbit.
On September 10, Ha Ji Won met Orbit for a lesson about space on her YouTube variety series Class of ’26 Jiwon.
As she listened to Orbit’s explanations, Ha Ji Won shared that she had already been interested in space for years but found herself becoming even more curious.
“I’ve always been curious about space, and I’ve read books and watched YouTube videos about it. But hearing you explain everything makes me even more curious. It’s so interesting,” she said.
Orbit praised her reaction, calling it a great way to approach the subject.
Ha Ji Won then revealed that her fascination with the universe began when she was young.
“Ever since I was a child, I wondered about space. When I went outside, there was always this dark sky, so I looked up at it every day,” she recalled.
She jokingly added, “When I was in elementary school, I couldn’t adjust to Earth.”
Orbit appeared impressed by her unusual way of describing the feeling and explained that many of the elements that make up the human body were formed through processes involving stars.
The conversation eventually turned to the question, “What is the universe?”
Ha Ji Won gave a personal answer, saying, “When I think about my own existence, I think, ‘I am the universe.’”
Her response immediately impressed Orbit, who replied, “We need to give her a round of applause.”
The exchange highlighted Ha Ji Won’s longtime fascination with space and showed a more thoughtful side of the actress as she explored questions about the universe and human existence.
