Actress Ha Young reportedly became emotional during filming for SBS’s upcoming drama There Is a Chance of Winning, leading production to briefly pause while she recovered.

According to a report published on August 16, Ha Young was filming the drama on August 13 when she began crying and had difficulty continuing the scene. Production was reportedly stopped temporarily, and she returned to filming after taking several hours to rest and regain her composure.

The report comes days after controversy emerged online regarding the historical background of Ha Young’s great-grandfather, Ahn Sang Ho. The issue has drawn public attention, but Ha Young herself has not been accused of personally taking part in any of the historical actions being discussed.

The timing also reportedly affected a planned birthday celebration on set. Ha Young’s birthday was August 11, one day after the controversy gained attention. Staff had reportedly prepared a cake for her, but the celebration was kept quiet because of the situation.

Despite the recent attention, SBS has not announced any change to Ha Young’s role.

The network previously stated, “A significant portion of filming has already been completed. We are aware of the matter and are closely watching how the situation develops. If there is anything further to share after things are clarified, we will provide an update.”

Filming is said to be nearing completion, making a cast change unlikely at this stage.

The controversy surrounding Ha Young began after attention turned to records concerning her great-grandfather’s activities during the Japanese colonial period.

Since then, some promotional content and advertisements featuring the actress have reportedly been made private or removed from public viewing.

For now, Ha Young continues filming There Is a Chance of Winning, with the latest report focusing on the emotional strain she reportedly experienced on set amid the ongoing public discussion.
