BIGBANG has been appointed as the first promotional ambassador for South Korea’s Korea AeroSpace Administration, marking an unusual collaboration that will connect the group’s 20th anniversary celebrations with the country’s space program.

On August 14, the agency announced that BIGBANG members G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung will participate in public campaigns introducing South Korea’s future plans and major projects in aerospace.

The Korea AeroSpace Administration stated, “We appointed BIGBANG as promotional ambassadors to create new challenges for Korea’s aerospace industry together with the public.”

It added, “Through various communication activities with BIGBANG, we hope to increase public interest and participation in aerospace.”

One of the main projects involving the group is called Dream Capsule, a public participation program designed to connect messages from people with an upcoming space mission.

As part of the project, BIGBANG opened a special website for its 20th anniversary on August 14, allowing V.I.P fans around the world to submit memories and personal messages connected to the group.

The submitted messages are expected to be converted into coded images inspired by the historic Arecibo Message. According to the announcement, they will then be carried aboard the fifth Nuri rocket launch into space.

The project also fits naturally with BIGBANG’s identity. The group’s name comes from the Big Bang theory describing the beginning of the universe, while its upcoming 20th anniversary tour, BIGBANG 2026-2027 WORLD TOUR < XX : COSMOS >, also uses a space-inspired concept.

BIGBANG is scheduled to release its new digital single BiiiG on August 19 at 6 p.m. KST before beginning the tour.

The group will kick off the tour with concerts at Goyang Stadium from August 21 to 23, followed by 33 performances across 19 cities in North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia.
