Actress Kal So Won made a surprise television appearance and opened up about how she feels about still being remembered for her famous childhood role in Miracle in Cell No. 7.
On the August 10 broadcast of KBS2’s Malja Show, Kal So Won appeared unexpectedly after world No. 2-ranked cuber Nam Seung Hyuk introduced her as one of his friends.
Nam Seung Hyuk had shared that he sometimes finds it difficult to meet new people because much of his time is spent practicing with cubes. Kal So Won then appeared and explained how the two became close.
She said, “I became close with him while learning how to solve cubes from him.”
When asked whether she had any worries of her own, the 21-year-old actress gave a relaxed answer.
Kal So Won said, “My concern is actually that I don’t really have many concerns. I’m 21, and I’m just living life as it flows.”
She also spoke about continuing to be recognized as Ye Seung, the young character she played in the hit 2013 film Miracle in Cell No. 7.
Kal So Won shared, “A lot of people ask whether I feel pressured that they still remember me as Ye Seung.”
She continued, “Whether people remember me as Ye Seung, as Kal So Won, or simply as the little girl from ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7,’ I’m just grateful that they remember me at all.”
Kal So Won received widespread attention as a child actress after playing young Ye Seung in Miracle in Cell No. 7. More than a decade later, she said she remains thankful that viewers still associate her with the memorable role.
The actress also briefly teased her next acting project, revealing, “I have a next project, but it’s still a secret.”
Her comment raised curiosity about what she may be preparing next as she continues her career as an adult actress.
