Actor Jo Jung Suk has shared a lighthearted update about his recent weight gain and how he is preparing for his next project.

On August 7, Jo Jung Suk appeared in a new video on the YouTube channel Just Jingu, where he revealed that he is currently trying to lose weight.

He explained, “I talked with the director during a meeting, and he said it would be good if I lost some weight.”

Jo Jung Suk said running has become an important part of his routine, adding, “Running really seems to be the best for dieting.”

The actor also shared how he gained weight while spending more time at home following the birth of his second child.

He explained, “My kids like the fried rice I make, and when they leave some behind, I eat the rest. That’s how I ended up gaining weight.”

Jo Jung Suk also revealed the small secret behind his fried rice, saying, “There isn’t really a special recipe, but I think sesame oil is the key.”

He jokingly added that his wife, singer Gummy, does not seem to use it the same way.

The actor also shared a playful family moment, saying that he sometimes asks his children, “Is Dad’s fried rice better, or Mom’s?” According to Jo Jung Suk, they usually choose his version.

His current diet is also part of his preparation for his upcoming Netflix series Paper Man.

Jo Jung Suk explained, “I don’t know exactly how much more weight I need to lose, but since I’m playing someone who makes counterfeit money, I want to look like a sensitive and sharp person.”

In Paper Man, Jo Jung Suk will play Cha Myung Jo, a man who has spent much of his life without recognition before entering a dangerous world after creating highly convincing counterfeit money.
