Actress Ha Young is drawing attention after revealing details about her impressive family background, including that her great-grandfather reportedly treated Emperor Gojong.
KBS 2TV’s Problem Child in House announced that Ha Young and Jung Hae In will appear as guests on the program.
During the episode, Ha Young also talks about her strong academic background. She studied Western painting at Ewha Womans University before continuing her education at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Looking back on her school years, Ha Young shares, “I usually ranked first or second in my class. I tried to stay within the top 10 in the entire school.”
She then reveals an unexpected part of her family history, saying, “My great-grandfather opened one of the first Western medical clinics in Hanyang, and he treated Emperor Gojong.”
Ha Young explains that several members of her family also became doctors, which later helped her prepare for her role as nurse Cheon Jang Mi in the drama The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.
She says, “I received advice from family members who are actual doctors,” explaining that their medical knowledge helped her make her performance feel more realistic.
Born in 1993, Ha Young originally pursued art before changing career paths and making her acting debut in the 2019 drama Doctor Prisoner. She previously shared that her growing curiosity about acting eventually led her to leave the art world and pursue entertainment.
Ha Young’s full story will be featured on KBS 2TV’s Problem Child in House.
