Studio Dragon returned to an operating profit in the second quarter of 2026 after several dramas performed strongly across television and streaming platforms.

The production company announced on August 6 that its second-quarter revenue reached 145.3 billion won, up 26.9 percent from the same period last year. Operating profit reached 15.4 billion won, while the operating profit margin recovered to 10.6 percent.

Studio Dragon aired or released 77 episodes during the quarter, an increase of 36 episodes compared to the previous year. Content sales revenue also rose 37.3 percent to 126.9 billion won.

The company credited its wider distribution strategy, which included projects released through tvN, SBS, MBC, TVING, Netflix, and Disney+.

Several titles delivered notable results. tvN’s Filing for Love and SBS’s Brave New World both recorded peak ratings above 10 percent.

TVING’s Yumi’s Cells Season 3 attracted 226 percent more paid subscribers than its first season and 73 percent more than its second season.

Meanwhile, The Legend of Kitchen Soldier reportedly brought TVING its highest number of new paid subscribers during a series’ first week among shows released on the platform in the past three years.

Studio Dragon subsidiary GTist also supplied Teach You a Lesson to Netflix. The series recorded approximately 510 million hours viewed during the first half of 2026, placing it among Netflix’s top three global titles based on total viewing time during that period.

A Studio Dragon representative said, “The first half of this year was a period in which we proved our production competitiveness by creating popular projects across television and streaming platforms.”

The company added that it plans to expand international distribution, improve production efficiency, develop businesses based on its intellectual properties, and increase its use of artificial intelligence during production.
