Seo In Guk has revealed that strong character relationships are the most important factor when he chooses a romantic comedy project.
In a recent interview, the actor admitted that he is very careful when reviewing romance scripts.
He said, “In the end, the most important part of a romantic comedy is the relationship between the characters. I am actually quite selective when choosing one.”
Seo In Guk has previously appeared in romance projects such as The Smile Has Left Your Eyes, Doom at Your Service, Boyfriend on Demand, and the recently concluded tvN drama See You at Work Tomorrow!.
Explaining what attracts him to a story, he said, “The key is the process of how two people eventually fall in love. The story in See You at Work Tomorrow!* was also very good. Kang Si Woo appears perfect, but I was drawn to how he meets Cha Ji Yoon and they gradually fill the missing parts in each other’s lives.”*
The office romance follows two people with very different personalities and habits who meet as a manager and employee while trying to balance work and love.
Seo In Guk also praised his co-star Park Ji Hyun for her creativity and open approach to acting.
He shared, “Ji Hyun is a very interesting actress. There are no limits to how she expresses emotions, she always has many ideas, and she is open-minded. I tend to carefully check everything while preparing for each scene, so I was grateful that she actively shared her ideas first.”
Viewers also praised the pair’s natural chemistry and balanced visuals throughout the drama.
Seo In Guk explained that he adjusted his appearance to better match the personality of Kang Si Woo. He revealed that his weight has changed significantly for different roles throughout his career.
The actor said, “My weight tends to change a lot. I once lost 14 kilograms, and I gained up to 87 kilograms for the film Project Wolf Hunting*. I started losing weight while filming Boyfriend on Demand, and I lost another three kilograms while preparing for See You at Work Tomorrow!.”*
He added that he wanted Kang Si Woo to look cold and focused without appearing unkind.
Seo In Guk continued, “I wanted to show the sharp image of someone deeply focused on his work, so I personally prepared suits and casual outfits in mostly neutral colors. I was relieved that viewers understood and connected with Kang Si Woo.”
