2NE1’s Sandara Park shared simple advice for introverted celebrities who struggle to speak comfortably on variety shows.

On August 3, Sandara Park appeared on the YouTube program Donghaemul and Baekdu Eunhyuk and reflected on her early days in entertainment.

She explained that she was naturally shy and quiet when she first began appearing on variety programs.

Sandara Park said, “When I first started doing variety shows, I received a lot of criticism. People called me a background decoration and said I was stealing appearance fees.”

She shared that she struggled for several years before gaining experience as a host on Video Star, where she worked with experienced female entertainers for four years.

She added, “When I later appeared on other programs, I realized that I had become very good at talking.”

Eunhyuk jokingly asked whether she was only confident in front of the camera, and Sandara Park lowered her head as if admitting that his comment was partly true.

Eunhyuk then asked what advice she would give to younger idols who are introverted, soft-spoken, and worried about variety show appearances.

Sandara Park replied, “You just need to get older,” making the others laugh.

She continued, “Time will solve it. You learn naturally when you keep doing intense variety shows.”

Her remarks gained attention as viewers continued discussing actor Jung Joon Won’s recent appearance on Hangout with Yoo.

Jung Joon Won appeared on the program to promote a project, but some viewers felt that he seemed hesitant and had difficulty responding during several segments. Others defended him by saying his quiet behavior may have come from his introverted personality.

The reactions remained divided, with some viewers saying that being shy should be understood, while others argued that effort and participation are separate issues.
