Kim Woo Bin has officially joined tvN’s upcoming sports drama Gift, where he will take on the role of a former professional baseball pitching coach facing a new challenge.
Scheduled to air later this year, Gift follows Jung Min Yong, who gains the unusual ability to recognize a person’s baseball talent at a glance after an unexpected accident.
After leaving professional baseball, he becomes the coach of the country’s lowest-ranked high school baseball team. Using his special ability and personal coaching style, he begins working to change the struggling team.
The drama will explore the difficult balance between natural talent and hard work as the coach and his young players learn and grow together.
Kim Woo Bin is expected to show Jung Min Yong’s emotional journey as he adjusts to his new ability, rebuilds his life, and develops a stronger connection with the team.
Gift is based on the popular Kakao Webtoon of the same name by writer Jung Iriiri. The drama will be directed by Kim Kyu Tae and Ham Seung Hoon, with scripts written by Min Jung, Hae Joo, and Sung Eun.
