Singer Soyou will open up about why she has stayed away from dating for five years on JTBC’s Dating War.

During the August 4 broadcast, Soyou appears as a special guest and shares a personal story about her previous relationship.

Soyou reveals, “My last relationship was five years ago.” She then explains, “I dated a bad man and was deeply hurt. After that, I lost the desire to date.”

The episode will also feature a real-life couple struggling with major differences in their values. According to the program, their relationship became more difficult after they discovered that they had opposing political views.

The man reportedly said, “Martial law is within the president’s authority,” while the woman responded that she wanted to correct what she believed he had misunderstood. Their discussion became tense as neither person changed their position.

The couple also disagreed about religion and friendships with people of the opposite sex. The man argued, “Men and women cannot simply be friends,” while the woman said that such friendships are possible.

Their disagreements reportedly became serious enough for filming to be temporarily stopped.

Dating War is a relationship reality program in which Lee Hyori, Seo Jang Hoon, and Kim Heechul discuss conflicts faced by real couples and explore possible solutions.

Soyou’s story about her five-year break from dating will be featured on the August 4 episode of Dating War.
