tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama My Bias, My Boss opened with a strong start as Kim Hye Joon’s character became unexpectedly connected to Kang Hoon before she could properly meet her favorite idol, played by Cha Woo Min.
The first episode recorded an average nationwide rating of 4.2% and peaked at 5.3%, according to Nielsen Korea. In the Seoul metropolitan area, it earned an average of 3.9% and reached a high of 5.1%.
The drama ranked first in its time slot among cable and general programming channels nationwide and in the metropolitan area. It also placed first in its time slot among all channels nationwide in the key 20-49 viewer group.
Kim Hye Joon plays Nam Da Reum, a new employee who leaves a stable job to work at Apello, the company connected to her favorite idol, Lee Chan, played by Cha Woo Min.
However, her plans quickly change after several awkward encounters with company CEO Kang Ha Gi, played by Kang Hoon. Their relationship begins badly after an accidental collision and another embarrassing incident before her first day at work.
Nam Da Reum is later surprised to learn that Lee Chan has stepped down as co-CEO to focus on working as a fashion director. Kang Ha Gi has instead become the company’s sole CEO.
Her nervous reaction during their official introduction creates even more misunderstanding, marking the beginning of a difficult but unusual workplace relationship between them.
The premiere introduced the complicated connection between Nam Da Reum, Kang Ha Gi, and Lee Chan while keeping the larger direction of their relationships unclear.
