A person claiming to be RESCENE leader Woni’s former middle school homeroom teacher has publicly denied recent school bullying allegations against the singer.
On August 2, the individual created an account on X and said they had taught Woni, whose real name is Jung Woni, during her second and third years of middle school.
They shared materials including a graduation album, a signed album, and letters reportedly written by Woni during her school years.
The teacher wrote, “Please stop the reckless criticism caused by claims without evidence.”
They added, “I will delete this account once the facts surrounding Woni’s behavior as a student have been properly clarified.”
According to the teacher, Woni served as a school-wide student council officer and sincerely participated in school activities, including campaigns aimed at preventing school bullying.
They stated, “If she did anything wrong, it would also be my responsibility for failing to guide her properly.”
The teacher continued, “As someone who watched her closely during middle school, I could no longer remain silent while information that is not true continued to spread.”
They also addressed online claims about Woni’s school performance, explaining that she completed several short tests as part of her assessments and often received scores close to full marks. The teacher said Woni remained in contact with former classmates even after graduation.
The controversy began on August 1 when an online user claiming to be Woni’s former classmate posted allegations about her school years.
However, the post was deleted within a day, and the account that first raised the claims is no longer available.
No independently verified evidence supporting the allegations has been released. RESCENE’s agency has also not issued an official statement at this time.
Online users have called for caution, noting that unconfirmed accusations should not be treated as established facts.
