Kim Go Eun and Lee Sang Yi drew attention with their natural and playful reactions at the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards.
The ceremony was held on July 31 at Paradise City in Incheon, with Jun Hyun Moo and Girls’ Generation’s YoonA serving as hosts.
Lee Sang Yi attended the event after receiving a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his special appearance in The Legend of Kitchen Soldier.
During the ceremony, the fictional boy group Flavor Boys returned to perform My Flavor. The group had previously gained attention after appearing on M Countdown.
As the members performed in military uniforms, Lee Sang Yi suddenly stood up from the audience and joined them on stage while wearing his tuxedo.
He playfully said, “What exactly is happening right now? I made a special appearance, and now I have reached the Blue Dragon stage. Welcome, Hwang Seok Ho. Since it has come to this, I will do my best until the end. Thank you.”
Kim Go Eun was seen watching her longtime friend with a playful expression, as if she was already familiar with his energetic and humorous personality. Her honest reaction created a light moment and drew laughter from viewers.
Lee Sang Yi’s response to Kim Go Eun’s grand prize win also gained attention online.
When Kim Go Eun was announced as the winner after her performances in You and Everything Else, The Price of Confession, and Yumi’s Cells Season 3, cameras captured Lee Sang Yi looking surprised from the seat behind her.
He casually exclaimed, “Hey, Kim Go Eun!”
His spontaneous response appeared to show genuine surprise and happiness over his friend’s major achievement.
Kim Go Eun and Lee Sang Yi entered Korea National University of Arts in the same class year. Their classmates also included Kim Sung Cheol and Ahn Eun Jin.
Kim Go Eun previously spoke about Lee Sang Yi’s naturally funny personality during an appearance on Pinggyego.
She said, “Sang Yi does not need to make jokes because his personality itself is funny. When someone tells a joke, you can feel pressure to laugh, but with him, there is no pressure because he is naturally funny. Sometimes, even watching him breathe makes me laugh.”
Lee Sang Yi has also shared a story that showed their close friendship. He revealed that he agreed to make a special appearance in the film Love in the Big City after receiving one phone call from Kim Go Eun.
