2PM’s Taecyeon reveals arm wrestling accident sent him to the emergency room after members heard a sound like a baseball bat breaking

2PM member and actor Taecyeon revealed that he once suffered a serious arm injury while arm wrestling with Junho during a schedule in Japan.

The members shared the story on the July 31 episode of the YouTube show Channel Fullmoon.

Producer Na Young Suk asked which 2PM member would win if they competed in arm wrestling. Wooyoung immediately replied, “No. We cannot arm wrestle.”

Chansung added, “That is a forbidden topic for us,” before explaining that Taecyeon’s past arm injury happened during an arm wrestling match.

According to Chansung, the members had around 30 to 40 minutes of free time during a schedule in Japan. Junho then suggested that he and Taecyeon compete because they were bored.

The group often arm wrestled during breaks at the time. However, the match took a serious turn when they decided to use their left arms.

Chansung recalled, “As they started using their strength, we heard a cracking sound from Taecyeon’s arm, like a baseball bat breaking.”

The members said the sound shocked everyone, and Taecyeon reportedly still has a scar from the injury.

Chansung also remembered receiving a call from the agency asking what had happened.

He said, “When I told them his arm was injured while arm wrestling, they asked, ‘Why did you do that?’ I told them it was not me. It was Junho.”

Junho explained that the accident forced the group to cancel a scheduled television appearance and go to the emergency room.

He said, “We were supposed to appear on a broadcast afterward, but we had to cancel it and go to the emergency room. The trip there felt so long because I could not do anything to help.”

Nichkhun then asked whether Taecyeon received surgery in Japan.

Taecyeon replied, “No. They said that my regular doctor should perform the operation, so they told me to return to Korea.”

After returning home, Taecyeon underwent surgery. Chansung revealed that he later performed at a concert despite the injury, while wearing a cast.

The story explained why arm wrestling remains a forbidden activity among the 2PM members, even years after the accident.
