Netflix series The East Palace continues to attract global viewers during its second week of release.
The fantasy drama recorded 8.1 million views, calculated by dividing its total viewing hours by its running time. It also entered Netflix’s top 10 rankings in 69 countries, showing continued international interest.
The East Palace follows Gu Cheon, played by Nam Joo Hyuk, a man who can move between the human world and the world of spirits. He joins Saeng Gang, a palace maid played by Roh Yoon Seo, to investigate a mysterious curse inside the royal palace after receiving an order from the king, portrayed by Cho Seung Woo.
New behind-the-scenes photos also gave viewers a look at the drama’s production. Nam Joo Hyuk was seen carefully reviewing his performance after completing demanding action scenes, while Roh Yoon Seo showed strong focus during filming and a bright personality between takes.
Cho Seung Woo, who presents a serious and commanding image as the king, displayed a warm smile after the cameras stopped rolling. Kwak Dong Yeon and Jang Young Nam also drew attention for their intense performances.
The released images highlighted the teamwork between the cast and production staff, as well as the large sets, visual effects, and filming methods used to create the drama’s fantasy setting.
