TWICE leader Jihyo has personally addressed recent speculation about her future with JYP Entertainment and possible plans to establish a one person agency.
On July 28, Jihyo shared a message with fans through the fan communication platform Bubble, revealing that she has been having a difficult time responding casually amid the ongoing discussions.
"I could just share everyday conversations with ONCE, but my heart still feels heavy, so it is not easy to talk casually like nothing happened yet," Jihyo wrote.
Recently, rumors spread that Jihyo may leave JYP Entertainment after being with the company for 21 years since her trainee days. Speculation also suggested that she could start her own agency. JYP Entertainment responded by stating, "TWICE is currently in the period of discussing contract renewals, and we are continuing careful discussions."
Jihyo appeared to directly address the situation while communicating with fans, saying, "I had a lot of thoughts and was very careful before coming to Bubble."
She also asked fans for their continued trust and support, sharing, "I will resolve and organize things well so that ONCE do not have to wait too long, and I can share news quickly. As the person responsible for my own life, I will think carefully and make a wise decision."
The TWICE leader also emphasized her strong connection with the group, saying, "I sincerely love and cherish the team called TWICE, and I believe ONCE will understand with that one feeling alone."
Jihyo ended her message by thanking fans and apologizing for being away, saying, "I'm sorry for coming after such a long time. I will come back when I can talk about everyday things and joke around like nothing happened. Thank you always, ONCE."
