
Namkoong Min’s KBS 2TV weekend drama “The Husband” is gaining strong momentum as it continues to set new ratings records.
According to Nielsen Korea, episode 4, which aired on July 12, recorded an average nationwide rating of 7.2 percent. The episode also reached a peak rating of 8.5 percent.
This marked a major increase of 1.9 percentage points compared to episode 3 and became the drama’s highest rating so far.
“The Husband” also ranked No. 1 among all dramas airing in the same time slot across terrestrial and non terrestrial channels. The series is showing one of the fastest ratings increases among KBS weekend miniseries, raising expectations for its future performance.
In the latest episode, Kang Tae Joo, played by Namkoong Min, continued his dangerous search for his missing wife, Go Se Yoon, played by Lee Seol.
After escaping from the police, Tae Joo met Lee Soo Hyung, played by Park Byung Eun, who offered to help him find the person responsible. Soo Hyung warned him, “Your wife is still alive. But there is not much time left”.
The two characters then began a risky partnership as Tae Joo changed from a fugitive into someone actively chasing the suspect.
The episode ended with Tae Joo suddenly appearing on the computer screen of Noh Man Hee, played by Kim Dae Myung, catching him off guard and increasing anticipation for their upcoming confrontation.
With its sharp ratings rise and strong time slot ranking, attention is now focused on whether “The Husband” can continue its rapid growth.
Episode 5 of “The Husband” will air on July 18 at 9:20 p.m.
