P.O opened up about the strong response to Netflix’s “Teach You a Lesson” and shared a funny story involving Zico.
In a recent interview, P.O talked about the popularity of the series, which has been receiving attention both in Korea and overseas.
“Teach You a Lesson” ranked No. 1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 non English shows and also reached No. 1 in FlixPatrol’s global TV show category.
P.O, who plays the genius officer Bong Geun Dae at the Teachers’ Rights Protection Bureau, said the success still feels unbelievable.
He shared, “It still does not feel real. I feel so happy.” He also revealed that the main cast and director have a group chat where they enjoy sharing viewer reactions.
The actor also reacted to viewers praising his character, saying he felt happy when he saw comments calling Bong Geun Dae his “life character.”
Since P.O does not use personal social media, he said he hears many reactions through friends and fellow celebrities.
He shared, “Many fellow celebrities contact me. I feel it when they say things like, ‘I watched it all in one day,’ or ‘It was so fun that I watched the whole thing’”.
P.O then revealed that Shin Dong Yup enjoyed the series, while Zico also watched the drama despite his busy schedule.
He said, “Zico hyung is really busy, but he said he watched the whole thing in two days while moving around. He said it was so fun and asked me to let him make a cameo if there is a Season 2.”
P.O jokingly added that Zico might fit a villain role, saying, “I told him not to say unnecessary things, but I think he would do well if he appeared as a bad guy, a villain.”
“Teach You a Lesson” was released on Netflix on June 5.
