Lee Hong Nae is drawing attention for his scene stealing performance in “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier”.
In the TVING original and tvN drama, Lee Hong Nae plays Yoon Dong Hyun, a senior sergeant close to discharge who works as a military cook. Through the role, he is showing both realistic everyday acting and natural comedy.
Yoon Dong Hyun is known in the story as a “minus hand”, meaning someone who can make food taste worse just by touching it. Although he often creates terrible dishes, he is also a warm senior who cares deeply for his juniors.
Lee Hong Nae has added more charm to the character by showing Yoon Dong Hyun’s funny jealousy and caution toward Kang Sung Jae, played by Park Ji Hoon, while also showing a dependable side during important moments.
The actor is also receiving praise for his detailed acting, from his careless sounding tone that still carries sincerity to his small facial expressions and reactions that change depending on the situation.
His agency Baro Entertainment shared, “Lee Hong Nae freely moves between a sly and cheerful side and a serious emotional line, making Yoon Dong Hyun more three dimensional”.
The agency added that his natural acting and detailed expressions help make the drama feel more realistic.
“The Legend of Kitchen Soldier” will release episode 11 and its final episode on June 15 and 16 at 8:50 PM.
