Heo Nam Jun is drawing major attention for his new look in his upcoming drama.

On June 14, photos and eyewitness posts of Heo Nam Jun filming tvN’s “Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid” spread through social media and online communities.

In the photos, the actor surprised fans by appearing with long hair, a big change from his usual short hairstyle.

Heo Nam Jun is currently gaining popularity as the male lead in SBS’s “My Royal Nemesis”, where he has been earning attention as a rising rom com actor.

His next project, “Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid”, is based on the popular webtoon of the same name and is aiming to air in the first half of next year.

The drama stars Moon Ga Young and Choi Woo Shik in the lead roles, with Heo Nam Jun and Gong Seung Yeon joining as key characters.

“Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid” is a romance drama set during the Japanese colonial period and is inspired by “The Little Mermaid”.

Heo Nam Jun is said to play a mysterious character connected to Su A, played by Moon Ga Young. After his casting was announced, some fans of the original webtoon had mixed reactions, but many also praised how well Heo Nam Jun seems to match the role.

Until now, Heo Nam Jun has been known for his strong image and short hairstyle. With his long hair transformation and new character, fans are already looking forward to seeing a different side of him.

Heo Nam Jun majored in acting at Sungkyunkwan University and debuted in the 2019 film “Like the First Glass”.

He later gained attention through ENA’s “Your Honor”, JTBC’s “A Hundred Memories”, and an IU music video. He is now building his name as a leading actor through “My Royal Nemesis”.
